Homework: Questions 20-24 in the Gold Clotee Packet

Today in class:
Math: We worked with numbers and used estimation skills to determine which fractional sums were closer to 0, 1 or 2. We also signed up for accounts using Khan Academy where students can practice a variety of math skills. Ask your child for details as you too can sign in and be a coach for your child. We will be playing the Getting Closer game from the CMP book tomorrow, page 6 in their text book
Language Arts: Today in class we reviewed and finished reading pages 70-76. We had great dialog regarding Aunt Tee's warning to Mas' Henley about poison. For homework they should work on questions 20-24.
Social Studies: Today in class we read the chapter about Venezuela and had discussions about oil and its effect on the economy of Venezuela. Pages 188-193. Students had partner time to discuss predictions they had about the true or false questions from the guided reading worksheets we have been working on as part of this unit.
Science: We finished the worksheet about circulation and completed an open note quiz about the circulatory and respiratory systems. We are beginning to talk about injuries, and illnesses such as allergies and influenza.
